Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one titles have been won on hard surfaces

A revitalized Medvedev secured his maiden trophy for nearly 30 months with a win over Frenchman Moutet in the tournament championship match.

The athlete, a ex- world number one, has endured a challenging period, achieving just one win at the major tournaments and suffering a setback at the New York tournament.

Medvedev's inconsistency on the professional circuit - and struggles with his service game in particular - resulted in him falling of the top ten and ultimately parting ways with long-term trainer Cervara.

Now working with Johansson and Goetzke, the tennis star has steadily advanced in the last few weeks - peaking in a hard-fought competitive win over Frenchman Corentin Moutet.

This marks Medvedev's maiden trophy following the Rome competition and first on a hard court since spring of that year.

Success also means Medvedev has achieved twenty-one titles at 21 various tournaments.

"It's the first time I am participating in a competition with my two daughters together, so to secure a trophy is particularly special," said world number 14 Daniil Medvedev.

"This victory is in dedication of my younger daughter Victoria, because the maiden victory I got when my child her name was born was for her."

The tennis star, the 2021 US Open champion, had been defeated in his past six title deciders, featuring in that event in the past months.

The player's counter-punching play style and frequent outbursts on the playing surface had prompted commentators to wonder if his capacity to perform at the top level was over.

Yet the athlete has altered his approach in the past month, making an effort to come to the net and play positively, backed up by an improved serve.

The champion recovered from a deficit in the initial set against the tricky Frenchman, winning four of the last five points to go ahead.

The pair traded service breaks in the following set before the Frenchman, attempting for his initial professional victory, gained dominance to create a decider.

Moutet saved four initial break points in a competitive deciding set before the champion broke to that score to serve for the match.

Suitably, Medvedev secured the title with a rally at the front of the court, with Moutet failing to manage a return after two hours and 38 minutes.
